Amazon Pilots

Stationed on the edge of modern civilization, against the densest jungle in the world, a small group of pilots live out their vocation of serving indigenous tribes. These pilots fly into village communities which would normally require days of careful navigation by canoe—days of exposure to crocodiles, venomous snakes, and horrendous diseases. Few make these journeys; the amount of supplies canoes can float is simply not worth the risk.

Instead, pilots like Marcus weigh every ounce of life-saving cargo to maximize their deliveries. Their planes must be powerful enough to lift hundreds of pounds while remaining nimble enough to land on reduced runways. Oftentimes, runways are simply not an option in the thick canopy. But thanks to Marcus’ floatplane, landing on one of the many rivers makes quick work of an otherwise logistical impossibility.
